The Medical Group Management Association's Anesthesia Administration Assembly will present its educational
conference in Colorado Springs this coming April. The annual event brings
together leaders and colleagues, both clinical and administrative, to discuss
current topics relevant to the business of anesthesia. The four-day workshop
includes educational speakers, exhibitors, general sessions, round-table
discussion and, this year, the possibility of a golf round or two.
Specialty leaders from
universities, hospitals and private industry will be on hand to discuss current
topics in anesthesia and exchange information pertinent to anesthesia practices.
Karen Alford, president of South Oakland
Services will moderate a round-table discussion of the most current "Hot Topics"
for anesthesia practice administrators.
Eugene P. Sinclair, MD, president of
American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) and Economics Committee Chair James
P. McMichael, MD share an ASA update in general session. In addition, an advanced-level
educational program helps attendees maintain expertise in anesthesia
administration.
The eight topics covered by the
conference sessions will be: (1)

patient care/clinical productivity (3)
compliance/patient care (4)
organizational dynamics (5)
human resource management (6)
technical resource management (7)
planning and marketing and (8)
negotiation (professional responsibility).
