Karen Alford, President – After more than 20
years working with anesthesia providers, hospital groups, insurance
carriers and government agencies, Karen Alford has become one of
America's foremost experts in anesthesia-specific practice management.
She practices her specialty with something comparable to artistic virtuousity. Prior to starting South Oakland Services in 1989, Karen was
the account manager for several medical specialties at Cy Care Systems,
formerly one of the nation's largest hospital-based practice management
companies. Karen's knowledge of the business of anesthesia is unmatched
and her skill in guiding clients through tough management decisions is
inspired. A nationally recognized speaker in the field of anesthesia billing and practice management, Karen attends
several anesthesia conferences each year and has been a speaker at a
number of them. She provides South Oakland Services with the kind of
leadership that promotes excellence, delivers exceptional service and
instills lasting confidence.
Marc
Hollerbach, Vice President – Entrepreneur Marc Hollerbach has
been committed to South Oakland Services since the beginning. As an
independent consultant, Marc helped to develop the original SOS business
plan and over the years has been an integral part of the company's
growth as an "advisory" member of the management team. Specializing in
process management and corporate efficiency, he was the principal in a
number of successful company startups. His last two efforts were
technology companies that developed software for the medical billing
process. Upon the sale of his interest in those companies in 2001, Marc
joined SOS full-time, bringing the the company a seasoned business
perspective and an enhanced understanding of information technology.
Mary Krause,
Director of Operations - Mary Krause was one of SOS’ first
employees, joining South Oakland as a coder at the company’s inception.
She has grown with the company, becoming knowledgeable about all aspects
of anesthesia billing and pain management billing through hands-on experience.
Mary’s quick wit and capacity to grasp the complexities of anesthesia
billing issues make her a reliable source and an adept manager of SOS’
daily operations. Mary’s dedication to the business of anesthesia as
well as her attention to the details ensures that SOS provides the very
highest level of personal attention to our clients.
South Oakland Services is a
member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Michigan
Society of Anesthesiologists, the Anesthesia Administrative Assembly,
the Medical Group Management Association and the Healthcare Billing and
